Day 9+10 12-13.12.22 - the waiting game

This is the part of mountaineering I hate. Waiting in camp for the weather window.20-25 knots wind at high camp and the summit does not allow us to continue. We are stuck at low camp. It has been two days..

Not much to do except sleeping, eating, chatting, bit of reading, maybe a movie and repeat. The day as explained before is planned the wrong way around- breakfast at 11am, lunch at 4pm, dinner at 10pm. Last night the sun started shining at 10pm and the best part of the day was the beautiful evening.

But I am too far ahead. We did manage a little excursion in the afternoon. A walk to the fixed ropes and 200 meters of fixed line to train and make sure we have the right gear. It was actually very enjoyable to be out. 2 hours round trip. Carrying the pack gave us also the first feeling of what tomorrow (hopefully) will be.

The rest of yesterday was “knot” training- some funny videos on that. More chatting till midnight. Then a video till 2am.

Today it was the same. But after a big breakfast and more waiting, Rob, Kenton and Don decided to move to high camp. The rest of us will have to wait tomorrow again. Looks like it.
